Tour Plan:
Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve
Welcome to Tanzania! Baest Royal Adventures will pick you up from DSM city center and transport you to Selous Game Reserve in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch.
In the late afternoon, you’ll embark on a thrilling boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River, where you’ll encounter hippos and crocodiles in good numbers. Selous Game Reserve is home to over 350 species of birds, which are typical of miombo woodlands, and the birdlife supported by Rufiji swamplands is of particular interest.
Dinner and overnight accommodations will be provided at the Rufiji River Camp or Zarafa Tented Camp, two of the finest accommodations in Selous Game Reserve. Both offer excellent amenities and a range of activities.
Day 2: Walking Safari & Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve
After an early breakfast at your camp, your day will start with an exciting walking safari, followed by a game drive with a picnic lunch. The Selous Game Reserve is the largest in Africa, covering 54,600 square kilometers, and is famous for elephants. Other species commonly seen are lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, bushbuck, impalas, elands, baboons, zebras, and greater kudus.
Walking safaris are an intimate way to experience the African wilds, and our experienced guides will provide you with fascinating insights into the flora and fauna of Selous Game Reserve. Walking safaris typically last 2 hours and offer a good chance of seeing giraffe, zebra, elephant, and good birding.
After your walking safari, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve before continuing your game drive, with opportunities for excellent photographic opportunities and exploring different sections of the vast park.
Dinner and overnight accommodations will again be provided at the Rufiji River Camp or Zarafa Tented Camp.
Day 3: Selous Game Reserve – Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam with a picnic lunch. Baest Royal Adventures will provide comfortable, air-conditioned transportation to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable journey back to the city.
