Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Mikumi National Park
Baest Royal Adventures welcomes you to Tanzania and invites you to join us on a thrilling safari adventure in the Mikumi National Park. The day begins with a pickup from your accommodation in DSM city center, followed by a scenic drive south along the Tanzania / Zambia Highway.
Enjoy a hot lunch on the way as we journey towards the Mikumi National Park. Once we arrive, get ready for an exciting afternoon game drive in the park, where we’ll have the opportunity to spot some of the park’s famous wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, elands, greater kudu, wildebeest, roan and sable antelope. Keep your eyes peeled for predators such as tree-climbing lions, leopards, wild hunting dogs and black-backed jackals.
As the sun begins to set, we’ll retire to one of our carefully selected accommodation options, which include the Vuma Hills Tented Camp, Tan Swiss Lodge, or TANAPA Bandas. Enjoy a delicious dinner before settling in for a peaceful night’s sleep. (Lunch and dinner included)
With over 3,230 square kilometers of coverage, Mikumi National Park is a well-known park in Tanzania, home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. The park boasts a rich array of bird species, with more than 300 recorded, including Eurasian migrants such as the red-billed oxpecker, marabou stork and lilac-breasted roller.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park
After a delicious breakfast, get ready for an exciting full day game drive of Mikumi National Park. You will be amazed by the vastness of the park and the incredible diversity of wildlife that resides within it. Keep your cameras ready as you may encounter some of Africa’s most iconic animals such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, elands, greater kudu, wildebeest, roan and sable antelope. The park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, which can be seen in large numbers, as well as leopards, wild hunting dogs, and black-backed jackals. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted to know that over 300 species of birds have been recorded here, including Eurasian migrants such as red-billed oxpecker, marabou stork, and lilac-breasted roller. Lunch will be served at the Hippo Pool picnic site, where you can enjoy the scenery while indulging in a scrumptious meal. After the game drive, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Vuma Hills Tented Camp/Tan Swiss Lodge/TANAPA Bandas. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Mikumi National Park – Dar es Salaam
Wake up to the sounds of nature and enjoy a delicious breakfast before embarking on a morning game drive through Mikumi National Park. You will have another opportunity to spot some of the animals you might have missed on the previous day’s game drive. After the morning game drive, you will have a picnic lunch before starting your journey back to Dar es Salaam City. The afternoon drive will take you through scenic landscapes, and you might spot some wildlife on the way. You will arrive in Dar es Salaam City in the late afternoon, depending on traffic. (B,L)
