Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve
Welcome to Tanzania! Your adventure with Baest Royal Adventures begins with a pick-up from DSM city center at 0730 hours. You will then proceed to Selous Game Reserve with a picnic lunch. This journey takes you on a scenic drive, allowing you to see the beauty of Tanzania’s countryside.
Upon arrival, you will check into your chosen accommodation at Rufiji River Camp or Zarafa Tented Camp, both offering a unique and authentic safari experience.
In the late afternoon, you will embark on a boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. This is a unique opportunity to encounter hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. The Selous Game Reserve is also home to more than 350 bird species, which you will have the chance to observe during the boat safari.
After a thrilling day, you will enjoy a delicious dinner at your camp and spend the night surrounded by the peacefulness of the reserve.

Day 2: Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve
Begin your day with an early breakfast before embarking on an exciting game drive through the vast Selous Game Reserve, the largest protected wildlife reserve in Africa. As you explore this incredible wilderness, keep your eyes peeled for some of the reserve’s most iconic inhabitants, including lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, bushbuck, impalas, elands, baboons, zebras, and greater kudus. With Baest Royal Adventures, you’ll have the opportunity to traverse different sections of the reserve, offering ample photographic opportunities and a chance to discover the stunning biodiversity of this unique ecosystem.
Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the tranquil beauty of the reserve, surrounded by the sounds and sights of the African bush. As the day winds to a close, depart for Dar es Salaam city center, arriving around 1800 hours, or later depending on traffic.
