Tour Plan:

Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Mikumi National Park

Get ready for an exciting journey! Your adventure begins as you depart from DSM city center and head to Mikumi National Park. With a picnic lunch in hand, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way. After arrival, an afternoon game drive in the park awaits you. Relax and enjoy the sunset before returning to your accommodation at Vuma Hills Tented Camp or Tan Swiss Lodge for dinner and overnight stay. (L,D)

The journey from Dar es Salaam takes you through a beautiful landscape, crossing hills, and plains covered with scrub vegetation. You will see tall termite hills and encounter local Masai selling beaded necklaces and belts along the roadside. The beautiful Uluguru Mountains towering above the plains and the town of Morogoro will also be visible.

Day 2: Mikumi National Park – Ruaha National Park

After breakfast at your camp or lodge, you will continue your adventure to Ruaha National Park with a picnic lunch. Arriving at your destination, you will have time to relax and prepare for the next day’s adventure. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Ruaha River Lodge or Tungamalenga Lodge. (B,L,D)

The roads take you through the Kitonga hills, which are part of the Udzungwa Mountains, before following the Great Ruaha river. You will then climb the Great Rift Escarpment and pass through Iringa town before arriving at Ruaha National Park.

Day 3: Game Viewing in Ruaha National Park

Get ready for a full day of game viewing in Ruaha National Park after breakfast with a picnic lunch. The park covers 13,000 square kilometers, with the Great Ruaha River being its defining feature. After a thrilling day, you will return to your accommodation at Ruaha River Lodge or Tungamalenga Lodge for dinner and overnight stay. (B,L,D)

Day 4: Game Viewing in Ruaha National Park

Another day of adventure awaits you as you go for a full day game drive in Ruaha National Park after breakfast with a picnic lunch. This park is known for its diverse wildlife, including tree-climbing lions, leopards, wild hunting dogs, and black-backed jackals. You will also see many bird species. After a thrilling day, you will return to your accommodation at Ruaha River Lodge or Tungamalenga Lodge for dinner and overnight stay. (B,L,D)

Day 5: Ruaha National Park – Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, you will proceed with your picnic lunch to Mikumi National Park, where you can relax at your camp or lodge. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Vuma Hills Tented Camp or Tan Swiss Lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Mikumi National Park – Dar es Salaam

The adventure isn’t over yet! After a morning game drive in Mikumi National Park with a picnic lunch, it’s time to head back to Dar es Salaam. Relive the wonderful memories of the past days on the road trip back. (B,L)

Mikumi National Park covers 3,230 square kilometers and is home to a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, elands, greater kudus, wildebeests, roan, and sable antelopes. You will have the chance to see predators such as tree-climbing lions, leopards, wild hunting dogs, and black-backed jackals. More than 300 bird species, including red-billed oxpeckers, marabou storks, and lilac-breasted rollers, have been recorded in the park.
