Tour Plan:
Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Mikumi National Park
Your tour guide from Baest Royal Adventures will pick you up from the center of Dar es Salaam in the morning, and you will begin your journey to the Mikumi National Park. This park is located in the southern part of Tanzania, along the Tanzania/Zambia Highway. You will enjoy a picnic lunch on the way. Upon arrival at Mikumi National Park, you will check in to your accommodation at Vuma Hills Tented Camp, Tan Swiss Lodge, or TANAPA Bandas. After settling in, you will go on an afternoon game drive in the park, where you can see some of the 300 species of birds, as well as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, elands, greater kudus, wildebeest, and predators such as tree-climbing lions, leopards, wild hunting dogs, and black-backed jackals. You will return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Hiking in Udzungwa Mountain National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to the Udzungwa Mountain National Park with your picnic lunch. This park is the first terrestrial national park in Tanzania and is known for its diverse forest, where approximately 20-30% of the 200 animal and plant species found here are not found anywhere else in the world. It’s also one of the top ten forests for bird conservation in Africa. You will go on a hiking adventure, which is a great way to see the natural beauty of the park. You might even spot some wildlife like water buffalo, elephants, or reptiles and snakes. You will return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Mikumi National Park – Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, you will enjoy a morning game drive in Mikumi National Park with your picnic lunch. You will have one last chance to see some of the animals you might have missed on the first day. Early in the afternoon, you will begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, where you will be dropped off at the city center.
