Arrival and Preparation Day:

Our driver will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transport you to your hotel in Moshi. Our driver will wait for you, no matter how long it takes for you to clear customs. Once you have checked in to your hotel, we will conduct an equipment check to ensure you have all the necessary gear. If anything is missing, rentals can be arranged.

Your guide from Baest Royal Adventures will then meet with you to conduct a thorough pre-climb briefing, addressing any questions or concerns you may have. For those arriving at night, these activities can be scheduled for the following morning.

Day 1: Begin Your Adventure with Baest Royal Adventures at Machame Gate

Embark on your Kilimanjaro adventure with Baest Royal Adventures! After a satisfying breakfast at your hotel, our comfortable vehicle will transport you to the Machame Gate trailhead. From there, your trek begins through the lush rainforest and up the ridge towards Machame Camp, where you will spend your first night on the mountain. As you trek, keep your eyes peeled for the unique flora and fauna of the region. Baest Royal Adventures will ensure that you have a memorable and enjoyable start to your Kilimanjaro climb.

Overnight Location: Camping on Mount Kilimanjaro (3,026m / 9,927ft)

Day 2: Hike the ridge to Shira Camp with Baest Royal Adventures

Embark on an unforgettable journey as you hike the ridge to Shira Plateau. As you ascend, the stunning scenery will take your breath away. You’ll witness the rainforest transform into a vast expanse of wilderness. The trail is challenging but well worth it, as you reach Shira Camp, your home for the night. Day 3: Trek past the Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Prepare for a challenging trek this morning as you ascend to the Lava Tower, a 100m volcanic plug affectionately known as “Shark Tooth”. You’ll have the opportunity to climb this impressive geological feature if you wish. After lunch, enjoy a respite from the higher altitude as you descend into Barranco Valley. Take in the incredible views of Mount Kibo and the southern glaciers from your resting place for the night at Barranco Camp.

Don’t forget, with Baest Royal Adventures, you’ll have knowledgeable and experienced guides to help you navigate each leg of your journey on Mount Kilimanjaro.

Distance: 5-6 hours, 10 km, 863m of ascent, 646m of descent

Day 4: Climb the Barranco Wall and descend to Karanga Camp

Today’s trek begins with a climb up the Barranco Wall, which might be the most exciting and challenging part of the trek. The wall is steep and rocky, but it’s manageable and requires no technical climbing skills. Once you reach the top, take a moment to savor the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. After that, the trail descends into the Karanga Valley, where you’ll spend the night at Karanga Camp.

Overnight Location: Camping on Mount Kilimanjaro (3,963m / 13,000ft)

Distance: 4 to 5 hours, 5 km, 350m of ascent, 100m of descent

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 5: Trek to Barafu Camp – Shorter Day at Altitude

Today’s trek will take you through the stunning and somewhat desolate volcanic desert of Mount Kilimanjaro. As you continue to ascend to higher altitudes, you may feel the effects of the thin air, making the day more challenging. But don’t worry, your experienced guides from Baest Royal Adventures will be with you every step of the way, ensuring that you are safe and well-acclimatized.

After the trek, you will rest and recharge at Barafu Camp, located at an altitude of 4,550 meters or 14,928 feet. This high altitude camp is strategically located to help you prepare for your summit bid tomorrow.

At Baest Royal Adventures, we understand the importance of proper acclimatization to ensure that you have the best chance of reaching the summit. That’s why we have designed our itinerary with shorter trekking times at higher altitudes, allowing you to gradually acclimatize and reduce the risk of altitude sickness.

Distance:3 to 4 hours, 4 km, 650m of ascent

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 6: Stella Point sunrise and final ascent to summit – Descend to Mweka Camp

Today is the big day! You’ll start your trek sometime around midnight, wearing your headlamp as you make your way up to Stella Point. The early start ensures that you’ll arrive in time for an unforgettable sunrise. The final stretch of the ascent will be challenging due to the high elevation, heavy scree, and snow, but the stunning view from the top of Uhuru Peak will make it all worth it. Take in the breathtaking panorama from the highest point in Africa before you begin your descent.

This afternoon, you’ll start hiking back down to a much more comfortable altitude to spend the night at Mweka Camp. Enjoy the sense of accomplishment and take some time to rest and recover after your incredible summit experience.

Overnight Location: Camping on Mount Kilimanjaro (3,110m / 10,203ft)

Distance: 10 to 13 hours, 18km, 1,195m of ascent, 2,805m of descent

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 7: Descend to Mweka Gate and back to Moshi with Baest Royal Adventures

Today marks the final day of your unforgettable Mount Kilimanjaro trek. You’ll start your descent from Mweka Camp back into the rainforest climate, surrounded by lush greenery and a diverse range of flora and fauna. As you arrive at Mweka Gate, you’ll be met by a Gladys Adventure driver who will take you back to their office. Here, you’ll receive your well-deserved climb certificate and have the opportunity to tip your crew and say goodbye to them.

Breakfast at the hotel is included in the climb package.

Our driver will be available at any time to take you to Kilimanjaro Airport.

If you have booked a safari, we typically will leave just after breakfast.

Checkout time at the hotel is 10am.

If you have a flight departing later in the day, we will try to obtain a late checkout for you or arrange for a day room if you desire.

End of Climb.

The Trekking Price Includes:

  • Accommodation in Moshi one night before and one night after the trek (B&B plan) check out time is 10:00 hrs (late check out charge is $65).
  • Return Airport Transfers -To and from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
  • Private toilet tent(s) — 1 tent for every 7 climbers (not used on Marangu Route).
  • All government fees and Taxes for the National park.
  • All meals and water while on the mountain.
  • All salaries for guides, assistant guides, chef, porters.
  • Return Transport to and from the park gate.
  • Oxygen for altitude sickness emergencies.
  • All camping equipment (tents, tables, chairs, cooking equipment, dining tent, mattress… everything but your sleeping bag.)

The Trekking Price does not Include:

  • Sleeping bag – please bring your own or rent one from our equipment rental shop.
  • Clothing & equipment listed on the climb packing list.
  • International flights & Visas.
  • Travel Insurance (we require all clients to have medical and evacuation coverage).
  • Mountain climb staff tips.
