Arrival and Preparation Day:

Our driver will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transport you to your hotel in Moshi. Our driver will wait for you, no matter how long it takes for you to clear customs. Once you have checked in to your hotel, we will conduct an equipment check to ensure you have all the necessary gear. If anything is missing, rentals can be arranged.

Your guide from Baest Royal Adventures will then meet with you to conduct a thorough pre-climb briefing, addressing any questions or concerns you may have. For those arriving at night, these activities can be scheduled for the following morning.

Day 1: Trek to Machame Camp

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, our driver will pick you up and transport you to the Machame Gate trailhead. The day’s trail winds its way through the lush rainforest and up the ridge towards Machame Camp. This section of the trail can be muddy, so make sure to have your gaiters and trekking poles at the ready. After a successful day of hiking, you’ll arrive at Machame Camp feeling accomplished and ready for the adventures to come.

Overnight Location: Machame Camp (2,980m/9,777ft)

Distance: 10.75 km/6.7 miles

Trekking Time: 5-7 hours

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 2: Short trek to Shira Camp

Today’s trek is a relatively easy one, allowing you to take in the stunning scenery around you. As you leave the rainforest behind, the landscape begins to change into open moorland, and you’ll soon find yourself ascending the ridge towards Shira Camp. Along the way, you’ll be able to enjoy unobstructed views of the surrounding valleys and hillsides, as well as the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro towering above. Once you reach Shira Camp, take some time to relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery. You’ll spend the night here and continue your journey towards the summit tomorrow.

Overnight Location: Camping on Mount Kilimanjaro (3,766m / 12,355ft)

Distance: 4-5 hours, 5 km, 800m elevation gain

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 3: Lava Tower and Mount Kibo en route to Barranco Camp

Leaving the beautiful Shira Plateau behind, you’ll continue your trek upwards towards Mount Kilimanjaro. Today’s journey will take you through unique and breathtaking landscapes, offering stunning views of the surrounding flora and fauna.

The highlight of Day 3 is the Lava Tower, a magnificent natural landmark that offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. Be sure to have your camera at the ready to capture the stunning scenery.
As you ascend towards the Lava Tower, the trail will help you acclimatize to the altitude by bringing you up over 4500m for the first time on this trek. However, there’s no need to worry as you will have an elevation break tonight at Barranco Camp, which is only slightly higher than your previous night’s campsite.

The trek to Barranco Camp is an unforgettable experience, with stunning views of Mount Kibo at the end of the day. You’ll have the opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds you on this leg of the journey.

Day 5: Early morning trek to summit and descent to Mweka Camp with Baest Royal Adventures

Today is the day you’ve been waiting for! Join Baest Royal Adventures on an early morning trek that will take you to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. We’ll begin our ascent just after midnight, giving you the chance to witness the breathtaking sunrise from Stella Point, or even the summit itself if you’re fast enough.

The last stretch of the trek is the most challenging, with steep terrain and heavy scree leading up to Stella Point. As you ascend to Uhuru Peak, you’ll likely be hiking through snow for the final hour. But don’t give up! Our expert guides will be there every step of the way, ensuring your safety and offering encouragement to keep pushing to the summit.

Once you’ve celebrated being at the highest point in all of Africa, it’s time to head back down. The trail down to Mweka Camp is steep and loose, so be sure to have your trekking poles handy. Our guides will ensure your safety as you navigate the challenging terrain.

You’ll be met by one of our friendly and experienced drivers who will transport you back to our office. Here, you’ll be presented with your climb certificate, a testament to your incredible achievement, and have the opportunity to say farewell and tip your amazing crew who have been with you every step of the way.

Departure Day with Baest Royal Adventures

It’s time to say goodbye to Tanzania and your incredible Kilimanjaro trek with Baest Royal Adventures. As part of our commitment to exceptional service, we’ve included breakfast at the hotel in your climb package, ensuring that you have a delicious and satisfying meal before you depart.

Our experienced driver will be available at any time to take you to Kilimanjaro Airport, which is just a short 45-minute drive away. If you’ve booked a safari, we typically leave just after breakfast to start your next adventure.

Check-out time at the hotel is 10 am, but if you have a later flight, we’ll do everything we can to arrange a late checkout or a day room for you. Our goal is to ensure that your departure is as stress-free and comfortable as possible.

The Trekking Price Includes:

  • Accommodation in Moshi one night before and one night after the trek (B&B plan) check out time is 10:00 hrs (late check out charge is $65).
  • Return Airport Transfers -To and from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
  • Private toilet tent(s) — 1 tent for every 7 climbers (not used on Marangu Route).
  • All government fees and Taxes for the National park.
  • All meals and water while on the mountain.
  • All salaries for guides, assistant guides, chef, porters.
  • Return Transport to and from the park gate.
  • Oxygen for altitude sickness emergencies.
  • All camping equipment (tents, tables, chairs, cooking equipment, dining tent, mattress… everything but your sleeping bag.)

The Trekking Price does not Include:

  • Sleeping bag – please bring your own or rent one from our equipment rental shop.
  • Clothing & equipment listed on the climb packing list.
  • International flights & Visas.
