Arrival and Preparation Day:
Our driver will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transport you to your hotel in Moshi. Our driver will wait for you, no matter how long it takes for you to clear customs. Once you have checked in to your hotel, we will conduct an equipment check to ensure you have all the necessary gear. If anything is missing, rentals can be arranged.
Your guide from Baest Royal Adventures will then meet with you to conduct a thorough pre-climb briefing, addressing any questions or concerns you may have. For those arriving at night, these activities can be scheduled for the following morning.

Day 1: Begin your trek to Simba Camp
After breakfast at your hotel, our vehicle will pick you up for the drive to the picturesque village of Nale Moru. On the way to the trail, you will stop at the Marangu Gate to complete registration forms before embarking on your hike. The path to Simba Camp is relatively dry compared to other routes, making for a comfortable hike through fields and a pine forest. You will emerge from the trees at Simba Camp and enjoy breathtaking views of the Kenyan plains.

Distance:6 km, 3-4 hours, 652m of elevation gain

Day 2: Hike through the moorland to Second Cave Camp
After a nourishing breakfast at the campsite, you will continue your climb through the beautiful heather of the moorland. You will notice a change in the vegetation as you leave the forest behind and enter a more open and arid landscape.
As you trek towards Second Cave Camp, you will be greeted by stunning views of the towering Kibo Peak and the rugged eastern ice fields. The unique and mesmerizing scenery of the moorland will keep you motivated and energized throughout your hike.
Upon reaching Second Cave Camp, you will have a chance to rest and take in the surroundings. The campsite sits at an altitude of 3,450m (11,318’), and you will be amazed by the panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. You can enjoy some leisure time at the campsite, acclimatizing to the altitude, and preparing for the next day’s climb.

Day 3: Trek from Second Cave Camp to Third Cave Camp
Baest Royal Adventures ensures that you have the best possible experience during your climb. On Day 3, you will begin your trek to Third Cave Camp, after a peaceful night at Second Cave Camp. Our experienced guides will ensure your safety as you steadily ascend through the quiet wilderness towards your destination. You will notice a significant increase in altitude, as you will be hiking at nearly 4000m. It is essential to stay hydrated and listen to your body to avoid any negative effects of altitude sickness.
During the trek, you will encounter various paths, and you may come across other hikers taking different routes. Our guides are trained to navigate all routes and will choose the best one based on your fitness level, weather conditions, and other factors. At Third Cave Camp, you will be welcomed with the stunning view of the Kibo peak and the eastern ice fields.
Baest Royal Adventures provides camping equipment, including tents, sleeping bags, and mattresses, to ensure that you have a comfortable stay on the mountain. You will also receive delicious meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, prepared by our expert cooks, to fuel your body for the climb.

Distance: 2 to 3 hours, 9 km, 430m of elevation gain

Day 4: Hike to the bottom of the Kibo Crater to Kibo Hut Camp
Today, with the guidance and support of the Best Royal Adventures team, you will embark on a challenging but rewarding trek to Kibo Hut Camp. This will be a crucial day as you will be reaching an altitude of 4,703m, and acclimatization will be important.
After breakfast, you will begin your ascent through the rocky alpine desert terrain. As you approach Kibo Hut Camp, you will witness the magnificent sight of Kibo’s snowy crater wall looming above you. The Best Royal Adventures team will ensure you stay hydrated, take regular breaks, and keep a steady pace.
Upon arriving at Kibo Hut Camp, dinner will be served early, and you will have ample time to rest and prepare for the next day’s early morning start. This will be a challenging day as you will be ascending to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Distance:3 to 4 hours, 5 km, 870m of elevation gain

Day 5: Midnight trek to Gilman’s Point and final ascent to the summit – Descend to Horombo Camp
Today is the day you’ve been preparing for – the summit push! Best Royal Adventures will wake you up around midnight, and you’ll have a quick breakfast before setting off into the dark night. It will be a challenging hike through heavy scree or snow all the way to Gilman’s Point, where you’ll see the sunrise break over the African plains. From Gilman’s Point, it’s a couple of hours to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa!
Your guides from Best Royal Adventures will be with you every step of the way, monitoring your health and ensuring that you stay hydrated and fueled. When you finally reach the summit, you will experience an incredible sense of achievement and take some memorable photos before making the descent.
Descending can be challenging as it puts a lot of pressure on your knees, but the Best Royal Adventures team will make sure you take plenty of breaks, and the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro will be sure to inspire you. You’ll eventually make your way down to Horombo Camp, where you can rest and recharge before continuing your descent the next day.

Distance:12 to 16 hours, 21 km, 1195m of ascent and 2175m of descent

Day 6: Descend to Marangu Gate and drive back to Moshi
Today, with the Best Royal Adventures team, you’ll be descending from the arid alpine desert through the familiar moorland and into the forest. The trail will be dramatically different from the one you experienced on your first day, as now you’re in the rainforest. It can be wet and very muddy on the last section of trail, so be prepared. You may catch a glimpse of some monkeys if you keep your eyes on the trees.
As you arrive at Marangu Gate, the Best Royal Adventures driver will be waiting to drive you back to their office in Moshi. Here, you will be presented with your climb certificate, and you can tip your crew and say your farewell to them. The Best Royal Adventures team will ensure that you have a comfortable and safe ride back to Moshi.

Departure Day:
As your incredible Kilimanjaro journey comes to an end, breakfast at the hotel is included in your Best Royal Adventures climb package. Our driver will be available at any time to take you to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure flight. If you have booked a safari or any other activity, we will make sure to arrange your transfer accordingly.
The checkout time at the hotel is 10am, but if you have a later flight, we can request a late checkout or arrange for a day room to suit your needs. Best Royal Adventures strives to make your departure as stress-free as possible, ensuring that your incredible memories of Tanzania and Mount Kilimanjaro will stay with you for a lifetime.

The Trekking Price Includes:
- Accommodation in Moshi one night before and one night after the trek (B&B plan) check out time is 10:00 hrs (late check out charge is $65).
- Return Airport Transfers -To and from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
- Private toilet tent(s) — 1 tent for every 7 climbers (not used on Marangu Route).
- All government fees and Taxes for the National park.
- All meals and water while on the mountain.
- All salaries for guides, assistant guides, chef, porters.
- Return Transport to and from the park gate.
- Oxygen for altitude sickness emergencies.
- All camping equipment (tents, tables, chairs, cooking equipment, dining tent, mattress… everything but your sleeping bag.)
